The RAM Mounts Temp-Right Dock Heating Module for GDS Tough-Docks is a self-regulating heating module available as an optional accessory when your docking system is used in extremely cold environments.
After installation on the dock and connection to a power source, the integrated thermistor detects when the temperature drops below 0°C.
In this case, the heating system is automatically activated and distributes warm air through the back of the tablet with the help of a 12-VDC axial cooling fan.
Once the device reaches a safe operating temperature, the heater automatically turns off.
Additionally, the module features an integrated safety mechanism that prevents the heater from activating when the device is undocked.
Only when the tablet is placed in the dock and presses on the safety mechanism will the Temp-Right heating function be activated.
This accessory is specifically designed to keep devices operational in cold environments, such as in transportation & logistics and cold storage warehousing applications.
